My Resignation

Malhavoc My Resignation

It's a sad day for me to do this, but effective at midnight 1/20/04, I am resigning as your commander and leader of Fury, and will no longer be playing TDZK. Solace will assume the mantle of leadership for the alliance, and will be able to designate a new second in command. The rest of the current Fury command structure will remain as presently organized.

I'm sure this comes as a shock to many of you, and by this point you're asking why are you leaving, and why so sudden of a notice?

Many of you think you know the history behind Fury. I've posted another thread with my memories of what's happened, but there is one thing about Fury regarding me that you don't know. Hopefully it will explain some of my oddities and why I'm a bit different than most other leaders.

This is why I wasn't on IRC often, or why I rarely ventured outside our public channels. This is why I could answer any question tossed my way, and why I often seemed very busy.

To nip the question in the bud, no, I didn't cheat with Malhavoc. Using admin powers would defeat the purpose, and I don't condone cheating in any way. This character has been legal since I started, and my hunting skills are derived from experience.

Why did I use a secret character? Ask yourself what would happen if everyone knew who I was, that an admin was the leader of Fury. Quite simply, Fury couldn't have existed. Everyone would either team up with us, or go to war with us, and normal politics would be impossible. So why am I telling you this now? Well....it was going to get figured out fairly quickly anyway, with both Malhavoc and Jerle vanishing at the same time.

I have had a lot of fun with Fury. I created the alliance because I wanted to play as a normal person, and I had hopes that the alliance would grow into something powerful. You guys have surpassed my expectations in every way. It has been an honor for me to serve as your leader, and to have so many brilliant, dedicated people by my side.

As proof of this, I present to you the start of this round. I have made VERY few decisions this round, instead passing off almost everything to the rest of the command group and the general membership. And look at where we are. We are strong, united, and a force to be reckoned with. I know that if I say I want something done, somehow the alliance will make it happen. I have a lot of faith in you guys, and you've never let me down. :)

I know that you'll continue to excel with me gone. Trust your leaders and subcommanders in the days to follow...they do a lot of work on behalf of the alliance and have your best interests in mind. Never forget the principles on which Fury lives. Honor, Bravery, Loyalty, and Friendship. I will return in time...and I hope to find out that Fury has stayed true to itself.
