Major status update Iccyh2007-02-12 19:53:00 ESTOk so, time for a major update as far as how we're doing and the
like.
First off, at this point in the round, we are clearly the best alliance in the
game and have demonstrated it vs. everyone. We've jumped every raid we've been
able, the only major alliance who's raiding we've not shut down to this point
has been CI. We've won all of our jumps, we're leading the game in kills, we
get quality kills outside of group situations (nice job all of you who are solo
hunting). Our raiders, well, not only are you guys near tops for donations but
we're *way* ahead of everyone for raids.
More than that, we're growing as an alliance. We've added a number of quality
players, all of whom applied on their own after recognizing that this is an
alliance they could see themselves playing in and contributing to. Welcome to
all of you, it's damn nice to have you here.
Out AA right now is at over $16b, which is more than double where it was when I
last posted up something like this, which is a dramatic improvement and is a
huge help; thank you to all of you who have been donating.
We've also managed to figure out some of the most important equations in the
game and build a fully functional port sim; we have ARD back. Huge thanks to
Mardak (for providing the original code), to foamy (for working on the
equations), to JPR (for coding the current version of ARD) and to everyone else
who's contributed, either by letting foamy shoot at them or otherwise helping
foamy and JPR.
And! We also have an incredible new site, with tons of features like being able
to actually upload combat logs, upload pings and will soon have a ship db. Huge
thanks to ZZ, Anubis and JPR for that (especially ZZ, <3).
All in all, we're near the top of our game and we're doing excellently. We are
clearly the best in the game at the moment and it shows in everything we do.
However!
Now that we have ARD, we've been able to get a real look at what it will take
to put together a raid team that can pop any level 60 outpost (upgrades or no)
with ease. While we're pretty much the only alliance that should be able to see
how that works at the moment, the amount it'll cost...
It's going to be roughly $10b needed per raider, and we'll still have to level
the raiders. Barring a change to the game mechanics (which is very unlikely),
we're going to need over $60b to be able to just one raid team, nevermind
having a little cushion incase bad things happen. We'll want more than that if
at all possible, though we've not yet set an amount. Raiding level 60 outposts
is *expensive*.
In order to really be able to make that kind of cash and level our raiders,
we're planning on changing up our raider design so that we can hit more ports.
The downside of this is that ops will be longer and even individual port raids
will be longer; instead of hitting ports twice between repairs, raiders will be
hitting only once. While I know ops are already less than exciting and this
will hardly improve things, this is the best (and likely only) solution
available outside of us all going cash trading for a few weeks.
The last thing I wanted to remind people about, please be kind to your leaders.
We're working our best to try and make sure things run smoothly, we're honestly
doing the best we can for the alliance. Leading stuff can be quiet stressful on
occasion and especially during ops and other group situations, please try and
avoid adding to that.
So yeah. Questions, comments? Post up and ask. I'm especially curious as to
what people think of the op stuff. Personally, I think that longer ops is a
small price to pay for hunters given that the raiders are doing so much for our
funding and the like, but that's just me and I *really* need to know if
everyone else thinks that is workable or no.

We're continuing to approach newbies. The problem is that none of them have
been very good, unless you want to fill up the roster with 1337 speakin', CS
