A quick
look at the filtered notices of Chronos (13) will show many Phoenix
ships appearing there. At first glance nothing wrong with that, it’s
been there home for ages. However a more detailed look will show that
many of those ships are appearing on the wrong side of the notices!
Three
battles with FURY and Renegade ships have resulted in the loss of 11
ships on the side of Phoenix, and only 1 casualty on the FURY/Ren side.
Several more civilian ships were destroyed in Chronos, mostly by
Renegade warships but also by Discordia and occasional piracies by STS.
Is
a war brewing between FURY/Ren and Phoenix? At the moment Phoenix seems
powerless against the warmachine of FURY/Ren. Outnumbered in warships
and unable to score a win on home ground against the agressors, things
look grim for Phoenix. Or maybe this is how FURY/Ren treats any neutral
alliance?
When asked about this situation, a Renegades official
simply answered "we pwn", after some convincing the official commented
some more about their fights with TPF: "They seem to be cannon fodder
that fights back occasionally, rather dissapointing for one of the major
alliances. We've lost 1 ship to TPF. And that was because of a major
error in jumping on Renegades/Fury's part."
The official also had the
following to say about why TPF are losing so many ships: "The fact
they're not eager to fight. We should've been massacred last night
[02/02/04], but at least 2 ships left the sector during a skirmish."
When a TPF official was confonted with TPF’s lousy combat results he had nothing else to say but "Yeah, we suck."
A
FURY official had the following to say: "Our recent jump in 13k was
purely opportunity. We'll jump pretty much anyone if we've got hunters
with turns and near equal numbers.Someone happened to spot a TPx fleet
while they were at the station, so we went for it. Honestly, we'll jump
pretty much anyone we're not allied to if we're able to. It's all in the
spirit of fun."
There you have it then, Phoenix has nothing to
fear from these alliances except their occasional hunters…off course,
all of these comments are official, only the respective alliances know
what’s really happening.
