2.4. Fury vs IA INN article

Today Iron Angels and Evolution followed up their raid of a level 30
port in Antalon (23) two days ago with further target raids of a level
30 and level 29 ports in the same system. The targets once more were
said to be the KAOS, Unbroken Fellowship and Dynasty Raiders ships
parked within those ports. The first port to be hit was 23262, a level
30 port.

MAYDAY MAYDAY MAYDAY!
Port 23262 (23262) is under attack by members of Iron Angels: Isaiah's Angels (85).
The
level thirty port was raided in a total of 10 minutes and 12 seconds,
bettering the time for their previous raid (14 minutes and 50 seconds)
by a significant margin. However, before the port was completely raided,
one of the ships parked within the port, a KAOS warship, decided to
make a run for it - this was, however, unsuccessful.

raid continued and the port was broken open, upon which the escorts
cleaned up the ejectees with minimal hassle, and many multiple triggers.
The notices have been pruned for the multiple kills, with only the
first kill being shown in each case.

Intergalactica, owned by Master CronoS (1969) [DR], in Sector 23262.
Among
the losses were two DR ships and one KAOS warbird. However, the
collateral damage is more interesting; alongside the killing of
tombstone, a level 50 sniv, and many other pilots from many different
alliances, including one FURY player who was killed as a result of the
raid. This would have greater repurcussions later on, following the
second raid. The level 29 port raided was the same port as the level 30
that had been raided two days previously. However, the raid took longer
than the first raid. Once more, ships attempted to take the opportunity
to escape from the port before it was raided, without success.

Port 23102 (23102) was successfully raided by members of Iron Angels: Isaiah's Angels (85).
The
escorts were once again triggerhappy in disposing of the four remaining
ships that were ejectees from the port. This meagre haul considering
the port level reflects the recent raid on it. However, there were still
some juicy targets within the port for the escorts.

Only
one KAOS ship was docked in this port, reported to be a warbird; the
escaping UF ship was rumoured to be a trader and not a warship.
Alongside them in the notices were one LoF ship, and a further three
FURY, including the viceleader Nightmyre, and CortezNeo, who was level
56 prior to his death. As a consequence of this percieved targetting of
them and their ships, FURY declared war on both IA and Ev.

this, IA continued with their raiding, taking a small planet that they
described as "a tiny planet which formerly belonged to DR (now
allianceless) and hoped it would yield a surprise DR kill". However,
this it didn't; the planet was empty.

However
following this, almost by coincidence IA did managed to kill a further
ship; a DR raider who chose the wrong time to reload, and was
consequently killed.

I
spoke to one of the IA leaders, Sardukar, about the targets they chose.
"We raided 23k today because there were still two Kaos raiders in it.
Our innitial [sic] target was only 23262. We podded one of the mentioned
Kaos raiders, an UF guy if I recall correctly and quite some cannon
fodder (nice for the escorts)." He then explained that following the
first raid, scouts had been sent out to check for further targets, and
23102 had been reported as a good target. Speaking to FURY leader Solace
after the raids, he said that they acknowledged there were valid
reasons for the first raid, but that after that they did specifically
warn IA after that, however, that "another raid in 23k would result in a
war with us [FURY]". This was even more so the case after "they [EvIA]
picked a port which caused much more damage to Fury than KAOS, and
incidently, had no big KAOS raider in sight."
Discussion on the
webboards in the immediate aftermath of the raid brought the question of
a supposed deal between IA and FURY with regards to the raids. "We had
built our level 30 busters and discussed targets. 23k immediatly came
up, as we 'thought' our enemy was hiding there. We had scans made and it
turned out to be correct," said Sardukar. "We however did not wish for
war with Fury, and them being the owners we had to find a solution:
either take a possible war declaration for granatage, or try and get
some kind of deal. We discussed within IA and decided to offer them the
following deal.
"We would tell Fury a couple of days in advance
what ports we were gonna raid and they would have time to clear out
their members. We would then hit those ports without Fury interference.
We would then leave 23k again. I mentioned this to nightmyre and he
passed it up Fury leadership. He said I would have to wait for solace
and that the total discussion in Fury could take some time. Note that
this was roughly 2 weeks before the first level 30 bust by IA. We waited
for a day or 2, maybe 3, and then I talked to Solace. He said that they
declined the offer. We therefore went back to our own discussion and
decided to go after 23k ports after all - the risk of those huge raiders
so close to home was too big of a risk."
This version of the
agreement, and the turning down of the agreement, was acknowledged and
confirmed by Solace, and he explained that FURY had previously shut down
the stations to prevent further raids in Antalon after the first level
30 bust. As a result, no FURY were harmed. However, following this, and
despite IA leadership making it clear once more that they had no fight
with FURY, and only UF, DR and KAOS, no advance warning was given about
today's raids to FURY.
However, despite the conjecture regarding
agreements, and what was really targets, both sides willingly
acknowledge that they are at war; Solace said quite clearly that FURY
don't do joke declarations. "Well they declared, the war comes from
their side," said Sardukar when asked what he thought of the war. "We
are already busy with UF/DR and Kaos. We'll see if we need to add Fury
to that list." When posed the same question, Solace said, "Honestly, I
couldn't care less about this war. I'm not even sure I can keep straight
the sides whatever which coalitions are on... but as long as we stay
declared, we'll take it seriously." I asked him as to whether this meant
that FURY may work with KAOS, but he refused to be drawn. "I'd say that
it'll be a sad day when Fury and KAOS ships are in sector together
without shooting at each other," he said, "but... you never know how
these things will develop."
